Chrome Angel Solutions and partner Totem Learning feature in the Operations and Performance category with their Immersive Reality Driver Coupling Game. Developed by colleagues in Northern’s training academies, the game is accessible to trainee drivers wherever and whenever they want it, enabling them to build confidence and competence in coupling procedures in a safe environment, before getting hands on with the real thing.
Partners Chrome Angel and Totem Learning also feature in the Passenger Experience category, with Northern’s (already twice award winning) Customer Accessibility Travel Simulation. A real first for the rail industry, this game allows vulnerable and disabled customers to familiarise themselves with a rail travel experience on mobile devices or in VR. This work has also been done with a lot of collaboration with Community Rail Lancashire and Northern’s own Accessibility User Group to ensure the user was at the heart of the project.
