Mark Robinson and Anisa Mamaniyat from Chrome Angel Solutions attended the Rail Innovation Exhibition alongside Shaheryar Khan from Amygda and Graham Dutton from Angel Trains on 13th February 2025 in London where they showcased their IUK-funded AI Feasibility project.
CAS collaborated with Amygda to create a cutting-edge AI solution for maintenance decision-making for Grand Central Trains. The challenge was clear: Grand Central’s planners often faced last-minute decisions on which train to deploy, needing assurance that the train can complete its service without unexpected issues.
The AI system automated this process, independently assessing vast amounts of data and identifying the most significant factors affecting asset health – eliminating the need for manual data analysis by engineers. The AI demonstrated an 84% detection rate for potential issues, allowing for more targeted and efficient maintenance.
This project marks a significant step forward in the application of AI for better decision making for Railway Operators.
